AN ITALIAN RIVIERA KITCHEN TRANSFORMATION
When your clients have a large family (and 7 grandchildren) visiting all the time, functionality and open space are crucial. We transformed their kitchen & dining room in Cambrian Park, California into a grand space united by an Italian theme.
THE KITCHEN MADE FUNCTIONAL
OUR GOAL: Update the look, rearrange the space to become functional
We moved things around to make a more open, functional kitchen. Removing the wall between kitchen and dining room, we placed the oven next to the refrigerator, moving the pantry where the oven was. Then we replaced the dated brown cabinets with top-of-the-line custom white cabinetry.
THE ART OF THE KITCHEN
OUR GOAL: Transform everyday kitchen features into art
The kitchen island sports a custom stain that matches the dining room table. The detail on the slab fabrication nosing turns a utilitarian space into sculpture. And while we’re talking art, the painted scene on the backsplash tile behind the range was a last minute change but it effectively brought the entire Italian theme of this home together. Our clients loved it.
THE DINING ROOM OPENED
OUR GOAL: Turn it into a light, grand showcase of glass and chinaware
This dining room was originally connected to the kitchen by a tiny entryway. When we knocked down the wall separating them, the room took on a new form. We built beautiful custom cabinets for showcasing their china and glassware -- everything planned to the last detail including the glass doors and the position of the lighting.
THE WINDOWS’ CHARACTER
OUR GOAL: Upgrade the kitchen windows and make them charming
Our client originally only wanted to replace their patio slider, but at the last minute, decided to replace the kitchen windows and we couldn’t agree more. We gave their windows some character and charm, making it so much more complete.
