A MODERN FARMHOUSE INTERIOR REMODEL

This interior remodel in Willow Glen, California was a custom project with a creative solution to the age-old problem of: “How do I get more space?”

THE LIVING AREA, EXPANDED

OUR GOAL: Open up the living space and make it functional

Originally, our clients thought they needed to add square footage to get the space they wanted. But we showed them it was possible to open up the living area without going beyond the original footprint of their home.

After completely gutting half of the home, we rebuilt it to give them an expansive living, kitchen, and dining space. And we highlight the living area’s focal point: the fireplace sporting fun Walker Zanger tiles, white brick, and a simple mantle.

THE KITCHEN, ENLIGHTENED

OUR GOAL: Brighten and expand the kitchen area

In keeping with the modern farmhouse design of the house, we kept the palette simple and light. Immaculate white with gray accents. Additionally, we simplified the build by using white, prefabricated cabinets. Now the focus is entirely on the food that is prepared here.

MASTER BATH, BRIGHTENED

OUR GOAL: Bring in natural light to a dark bathroom

Faced with a rather dark master bathroom, we added a long rectangular window to allow natural light to come in. The rest of the bathroom keeps with the clean design and rustic accents.

MASTER BEDROOM, CHARMED

OUR GOAL: Instill some rustic charm into the bedroom

What better doorway can a modern farmhouse have than a sliding barn door? We painted it white to allow it to fade into the background, and for the light brown accents to pop.

GUEST BATH, EMBOLDENED

OUR GOAL: Give one room a bold dash of color

We repainted the cabinets in blue, and lavished effort on the tiles. There are hardwood look tiles on the shower walls, penny tile on the shower floor, and a fun tile on the bathroom floor.
